Forming methods
By using modern CNC technology, we bring your glass into the right form. We cut, drill and grind the glass. Afterwards the sharp cutting edges are lined and refined with the desired cut.
Here you can find out more about the methods:
Cut
Cutting on the water jet separator in the max. format 2500 x 1395 x 200mm
(L x B x H); 98,43 x 54,92 x 7,87 inch (L x W x H).
Different cut qualities are possible, the qualities range from 1 to 5. The thicker a glass pane, the more noticeable the differences in quality. 5 corresponds to a fine section. Free forms and 90° angles are possible here compared to other processing technologies (5-fold technology).
Grinding
Edge processing / shaping with a CNC grinding machine in the max. format 1600 x 2800 mm (62,99 x 110,24 inch).
Drilling
Our processing centers for glass can realize holes from 3 mm (0,12 inch) diameter in a glass thickness of 2 to 30 mm (0,08 to 1,18 inch). The cutting edges can then be refined.
Edge processing
The following edgings are possible:
1. Cut edge
The glass is scribed with a diamond or with a hard metal scraper and then broken. The resulting break edges are untreated and sharp-edged.
2. Lined edge
The glass with a sharp cutting edge
(like in point 1) is no longer sharp-edged,
so there is no risk of injury.
3. Ground edge (with hem)
The fracture surface of the glasses is matt-finished. In addition, the edge can
be hemmed like in point 2.
4. C-edge grinding
The fracture surface is rounded off like a "C"
in the grinding process. It is matt.
5. Facetted edge
The glass is provided in the edge area with
a facet, which is also applied in the grinding
process. A facet is generally larger than a hem.
6. Polished edge
The edge versions listed in points 3 - 5
can be additionally brightly polished.
7. Bumped corners
The sharp corners of the glasses in rectangular shape are chamfered to avoid the risk of injury.
